What is the ATO Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH)
The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) is a free online service provided by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) that allows eligible small businesses to pay all their employees’ superannuation contributions in one transaction.
Who can use it
Small businesses with:
- 19 or fewer employees, or
- An annual aggregated turnover of $10 million or less
Key benefits
- Saves time by consolidating multiple super payments into one
- Reduces administrative complexity
- Helps ensure contributions are paid correctly and on time, meeting Superannuation Guarantee obligations
Important update
The ATO will close the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) on 1 July 2026 as part of the introduction of Payday Super. From that date, all employers will need to pay super at the same time as wages, and will need to use either:
- Use Payroo’s auto super function to handle payments automatically on payday
- Use your default super fund’s clearing house (most employers already have a default fund and can use its in-built clearing service)
