Continuing with Thriday Accounting after NAB Bookkeeper winds down

NAB Bookkeeper will no longer be available beyond April 2026.

This means the automated bookkeeping, tax and BAS features you currently access through NAB Bookkeeper will cease. However, if you use Thriday Accounting to lodge your BAS, you can continue with Thriday directly after NAB Bookkeeper is turned off, noting there will be some changes to how the service operates.

What’s changing?

While your accounting team at Thriday Accounting remains the same, the way we work together will be different:

How it works with NAB Bookkeeper now

  1. Transactions are categorised automatically using Thriday’s AI.
  2. Automated bookkeeping generates your BAS lodgment calculations.
  3. You can lodge BAS directly to the ATO from NAB Bookkeeper via Thriday Accounting.
  4. NAB Bookkeeper is offered at a special discounted pricing.

How it works when NAB Bookkeeper is stopped

  1. There is no automated NAB bank transaction data categorisation.
  2. You'll need to manually collect and categorise your transactions and receipts.
  3. Thriday Accounting will manually review your records and prepare your BAS.
  4. Higher Thriday Accounting fees will apply.

Can I keep using Thriday Accounting?

Yes — that’s your choice. If you wish to continue lodging BAS or receiving tax support from Thriday Accounting after NAB Bookkeeper ends, you can transition to Thriday Accounting’s direct services.

To do that, Thriday Accounting will need access to your financial data through one of the following:

Option 1: Provide bank statements and consolidated spreadsheet of income and expenses.

Option 2: Share access to your other accounting software, e.g. Xero or MYOB.

Option 3: Connect your data to Thriday Accounting via Open Banking.

You can choose whichever method works best for your business.

Will the experience be different?

Without the automated NAB Bookkeeper software, your bookkeeping and BAS preparation will become manual. Because of this:

  • Turnaround times may be slower.
  • Pricing will be higher than when services were provided using NAB Bookkeeper.
  • Processing times will depend on how quickly data is provided.

Thriday Accounting services are normally offered together with our automation platform, which is why NAB Bookkeeper users received faster service and lower pricing.

What will pricing look like?

Once NAB Bookkeeper is switched off, you will move onto higher Thriday Accounting pricing. The fee reflects the time required to manually collect, reconcile, and prepare your BAS or tax returns. You will receive a quote based on your business structure and reporting needs. There is no obligation to continue — the choice is completely yours.

What do I need to do?

No action is required right now. A few weeks prior to NAB Bookkeeper being turned off, we will contact you. If you wish to continue using our services, we will get you set up and ensure you have a smooth transition.

What if I want to stop using Thriday Accounting?

If you’d like to stop using Thriday Accounting, you’re welcome to appoint a new accountant at any time. To ensure a smooth transition, here’s how the process works:

  1. Notify Thriday Accounting via accounting@thriday.com.au that you intend to disengage.
  2. Appoint your new accountant and provide their contact details.
  3. Thriday Accounting will support your handover to your new accountant, once authorised.
